Having Lyme disease is expensive! Here’s a list of organizations that provide financial assistance for testing and treatment to people suffering from both the physical and financial effects of Lyme disease.
Lyme Test Access Program (Lyme-TAP) offers U.S. residents reimbursement of up to 75% of the list price for initial Lyme-related lab tests at an approved lab that aren’t covered by health insurance. Children under age 18 are given priority.
LivLyme Foundation offers grants to children, teens, and young adults up to age 21 who suffer from Lyme disease.
LymeAid4Kids offers U.S. residents under the age of 21 grants of up to $1,000 toward diagnosis and/or treatment of Lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases. Grant recipients can see any treating physician in the U.S.
Lyme Treatment Foundation offers residents of the U.S., Canada, the UK, and Germany who have been diagnosed with Lyme disease grants of up to $4,000 for treatment with a Lyme Literate MD, DO, ND, NP, or PA-C. Lyme Treatment Foundation also offers grants of up to $1,000 for Lyme disease testing.
LymeLight Foundation offers grants to U.S. residents up to age 25 who have been diagnosed with Lyme disease. Must be an active patient of a Lyme Literate, U.S.-based MD, ND, DO, PA-C, or NP.
Ride Out Lyme offers grants to U.S. residents age 26 and older who have been diagnosed with Lyme disease. Must be an active patient of a Lyme Literate, U.S.-based MD, ND, NMD, DO, PA-C, or NP.
Ticked Off Foundation offers grants to U.S. citizens age 26 and older living in the U.S. who have been diagnosed with or tested positive for Lyme disease.
United Healthcare Children’s Foundation (UHCCF) offers children up to age 16 who are covered by a commercial health insurance plan grants of up to $5,000 annually ($10,000 lifetime max) for medical treatment in the U.S. that is not fully covered or is not covered by their health plan. The child must have a social security number to qualify.
Lyme Disease Patient Grants for Connecticut Residents
Lyme Connection – The Elizabeth White Fund offers Connecticut residents grants for the diagnosis and treatment of Lyme and other tick-borne diseases.
Partner in Lyme offers Connecticut residents diagnosed with Lyme or other tick-borne diseases grants of up to $1,000.
Grant for People in Crisis
Modest Needs offers grants to working residents of the U.S. and Canada (ages 18 and older) who live just above the poverty level and are experiencing a temporary financial crisis. Applicants must have at least one active bank account or have filed a Federal Tax Return within in the past two years to qualify.
